About the course

As we step into the dark half of the year through the portal of Samhain, we welcome our ancestors; those who came before us and paved the way so we can have life and the opportunities we enjoy today. This is the perfect time of year to honour and acknowledge our family and ancestors; those who are with us and those who have passed and take time to heal together. In this 4 week course, we will welcome our family and ancestors into a sacred container of healing, blessings and transformation all held by the ancient Celtic detity known as both a creator and destroyer Goddess whose name translated literally means veiled one.

This course is designed to support you in connecting with your ancestral lineage no matter where your family were born or currently living. This is a beautiful reset as we enter winter, a time of rest, reflection and release all while building a sense of belonging, wholeness and renewal.

An Cailleach

When I returned home to Ireland in 2021, I was following a prayer in my heart, a prayer that began long before me. While living in Co. Meath, home to many of the major sacred sites of Ireland like Newgrange, the Hill of Tara, Uisneach and Loughcrew, I started to visit the land regularly and this is where I was introduced to An Cailleach, commonly known as Hag or Crone. Loughcrew was one of the first sacred sites that cracked my heart wide open! I set about the steep yet short hill of Loughcrew leading to the ancient Cairn T and on the way, I felt my heart open and expand, tears began to roll down my cheeks, my chest was bursting with what can only be described as love, a familiar kind of love, one that rang through my entire being, my bones humming with a knowing and longing all at once. This was ancestral.

I looked all around at the vast greenery, at the lonely bush I had just had a sneaky pee at hoping a farmer or fellow traveller wouldn’t appear out of nowhere, until finally I looked up and there she was, our eternal grandmother and ancestor, An Cailleach. Through my eyes she was a blanket of pink energy coating the sky above Cairn T and my first thought was “wow, my ancestors, our ancestors are all here, watching over us and showering us with unconditional love”. I didn't yet know that this energy, this unconditional love pouring from the skies was an embodiement of a Celtic Goddess responsible for creating the landscape of Ireland and Scotland. Legend says An Cailleach jumped from one hill to the next, dropping stones from her apron to form the magnificent womb-like structures we see today, thousands of years later, at sacred sites like Loughcrew and Slieve Gullion.

As a Goddess of Winter, An Cailleach becomes our guardian and guide through the winter months helping us to step into the belly of darkness and let go of fear and all that no longer serves us so we can dream a new dream, one that is deeply aligned with who we are now. It’s easy to get lost in the dark winter months but An Cailleach walks alogn side us and reminds us that the Light will come again and those dreams we planted in winter, will spring forth at just the right time.

What to expect

Classes are a mix of lecture and guided meditation designed to bring about healing and change so you can grow towards your desires, dreams and who you want to be. Together we’ll explore:
